What does an exhaust heat shield do?
It puts a barrier between the exhaust and everything that shouldn't touch it: legs, passenger boots, and soft luggage. If a bag or a boot has ever met a hot pipe, you already know why it's worth $30.
Why add a handlebar riser?
Because stock bars fit the average rider on the showroom floor, not necessarily you on a two hour ride. A riser brings the bars up and back toward a more natural position, which pays off in comfort and control. The Indian Scout version is built model-specific, so it bolts on clean.
What's a chain guard actually protecting?
